| What to Know First |
A DWI stop consists of 3 steps. 1) The Stop, 2) The Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST), 3) The Breath Test. The SFST is a series of psychophysical tests are administered to determine whether or not an individual is Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI). When going to trial, the case presented by the officer on duty relies on these three steps. In many cases the SFST, along with the stop and breath test, may have been improperly performed or measured and could therefore result in the case being thrown out. |
